TMS Elgin Mills Campus Dining Hall

Internationally recognized since 1961 as Toronto Montessori Schools, TMS selected Farrow to create a Facilities Development Master Plan for their two campus locations in Richmond Hill. Farrow’s strategic design process was aligned with Montessori values that include purpose-focused inquiry, critical thinking and active, experiential learning.

The master plan for the Elgin Mills Senior school campus, a building of less than ten years old, needed a number of programmatic changes to advance the school’s strategic objectives based on “delivering a seamless, internationally acclaimed educational experience that inspires and challenges students to discover the best of who they are and to achieve their full potential.”

The master plan program includes a main element include: a new dining hall and kitchen; collaboration space for faculty and students; new students common; preforming arts centre; new main entry; fitness centre; learning spaces and administrative support areas.

The first phase which Farrow is designing includes the new dining hall, kitchen and server, classrooms, staff collaborative areas and related support areas, surrounding a new courtyard.
