Kicking off the design of the campus of The Herzog Medical Centre, Jerusalem Israel, lead by Farrow Partners for the expansion of their 15 acre site overlooking the Jerusalem Forest valley.
The campus is envisioned as the community heart of the surrounding mixed use neighbourhoods, which will including parks, gardens, paths, restaurants, a kindergarten, and health and fitness facilities, all engaging the edge of the valley, which is an important archeological site containing the 2,000 year old main Roman road leading to the ancient city.
The design will double the number of inpatient beds to 1,200, create speciality geriatric, psychiatric and rehab in and out patient facilities, day centre, bench to bedside research centre, conference facilities, and hotel.
The Herzog Medical Centre is Israel’s oldest Jewish hospital, and the country’s leading integrated geriatric and psychiatric centre, which began to flourish under the leadership of the current President of Israel’s grandmother.
This is Farrow’s third major campus design in Israel and adds to the firm’s expanding health and knowledge design portfolio in the region, in Europe, and Canada.
