Farrow to Participate in UofT “What is a School” Symposium

Tye Farrow will be one of the ‘Dissenting Choir’ speaker that wrapped up the “What is a School (of Architecture, Landscape, art and urbanism) Symposium in the new Principal Hall at the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, Design and Visual Studies.

The day and a half long international symposium beginning on April 27, 2018, will explore the role of a design school as a “lobby, test kitchen and dining room” in exploring and encouraging debate, political dialog and critical thinking around architecture and city making.

 

Farrow Completes Building Permit Submission for Education Campuses

Farrow completed building permit drawings for the transformation of the of the Toronto Montessori Bayview Campuses. The design includes a new main entrance and lobby, gymnasium, performance centre and related administrative spaces. Construction will commence in June 2018 and the new building opening in September 2019.

Internationally recognized since 1961 as Toronto Montessori Schools, TMS selected Farrow in August 2016 to create a Facilities Development Plan for their two campus locations in Richmond Hill.

These two projects further reinforce Farrow’s reputation as a leader in creating healthy learning places, having worked on over a dozen independent school projects.

 

New Harzfeld Hospital in Israel Nearing Completion

The new Harzfeld Hospital, the first phase of Farrow’s master plan for the revitalization of the Kaplan Medical Centre campus is nearing completion. The 150,000 square foot hospital will consist of 153 beds, a dialysis unit, rehab daycare and comprehensive therapy services. The hospital will be moving from its current location to benefit from the site’s strong connections to nature and proximity to the Kaplan Medical Center’s acute care hospital.

The project is a collaboration between Farrow Partners and Uzi Gordon Ltd. Architects and Town Planners.

 

Farrow to Give Opening Plenary Address at Future Cities Green Infrastructure Conference

Tye farrow is to deliver the opening keynote address at The Grey to Green Conference in Toronto on May 15. The conference features the latest research and industry developments on green infrastructure as it relates to growing jobs, health and community resilience.
