Farrow Gives HD Elevate 2018 New York City Keynote Address

Tye Farrow gave a keynote address to the HD Elevate 2018 conference in New York City on how what we build can cause health. Organized by Hospitality Design Magazine, the conference was a gathering of 250 design leaders to “hear from nine of the brightest minds across sectors—from hospitality and coworking to retail and sustainability—in short inspirational and conversational talks and discussions as we explore what’s happening today and what’s in store for tomorrow. Expect a 360-degree look at design, centered around experience, innovation, and technology. It’s not only a springboard for innovative ideas that embrace this cross-discipline practice, but an engaging discussion about what’s to come.”

Farrow joined other speakers including leaders from Google Home, We Works and Six Senses Resorts to present his ideas on the leading issues facing the design industry today.


Farrow Presents Thoughts on Senior Living Design to RHRA’s Board Strategy Retreat

Tye Farrow was asked to present his thoughts on the future of senior living and care from a design perspective to the Ontario Retirement Homes Regulatory Authorities Annual Board of Governors Retreat in Toronto. The association is responsible for administering the Retirement Homes Act which includes licensing and regulating retirement homes on behalf of the government of Ontario. They are an independent, self-funded, not-for-profit corporation, committed to the protection and wellbeing of seniors living in over 800 facilities in the province.

Their mandate is to ensure retirement home residents live in dignity and have the support and knowledge needed to make informed choices about their care options.


Farrow Completes Trafalgar Castle School Master Plan

Farrow presented the final master plan for Trafalgar Castle School, one Canada’s oldest independent schools, located in Whitby Ontario to the school’s community in October. The master plan includes new collaborative gatherings space, student common area, fitness centre, performing arts centre, music centre and visual arts study space. The master plan also reorganizes the internal circulation as well as repositions a number of interior spaces.

Housed in a castle, built by Nelson Gilbert Reynolds, Sheriff of Ontario County, as a private residence in 1859, the building was the largest private dwelling in Canada until Casa Loma was built in Toronto. The new master plan will include additional performance space, common areas and learning amenities for the girls.

Farrow has completed over 30 master plans and has work with a number of Canada’s leading independent schools.


Farrow Begins Kingsway College School Master Plan

Farrow has begun work on a master plan for Kingsway College School, an independent school located in Etobicoke, which provides their students with rich and diverse experiences focused on the Four Doors to Learning – Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Citizenship. The master plan is anticipated to be completed by January 2019. Farrow has completed over 30 master plans and has worked with a number of Canada’s leading independent schools.
